Finding F'yr

Xanadu Weyr - Clearing

A wide clearing stretches from east to west, the ground packed hard although grass grows across most of it. Trees are strictly forbidden in this space, their danger to the constant draconic traffic reason enough to banish them to the forest that creates a this and sharp border to the north. Where the ground is less trampled, tiny flowers poke their delicate heads out from their shaded hiding places with upturned petals to wave to whoever may be looking.

The cliff looms imposingly on three sides, stretching upwards all the way up the side of the mountain where, high above, Xanadu's Star Stones and the ever present watchdragon sit on a lonely peak. Directly south is a massive tunnel, fully wide enough for even the largest dragon to fly down. Southeast are wide steps leading up to the Caverns and eastwards is the large entrance to the Infirmary. Somewhat north of the Infirmary is a human sized archway that has a frequent quantity of traffic — it leads to the Tavern. Southwest lies the low ledges currently belonging to Xanadu's queens while north and west a broad path cut by the side of the cliff leads to the Feeding Grounds and due north is the spacious trail that leads to the rest of the Weyr.

Keziah is reassuring Alosynth and then smiling as she's nudged and the green settles down, her eyes not quite so read and even hardly an orange. "I'm all right. Just a little bruise, have had worse being kicked by a runner after all." Not much maybe, but that's besides the point. "Nothing's broken." She looks over at M'nol as he comes out. "She's all right." she says softly as she runs her hand along the greens hide.

M'nol makes his way to Faraeth, nodding to Kez and Alosynth as he does so. Like most, his first attentions are two his brown, rubbing his eyeridges and murmuring soft consolations. After a few moments he turns back to Kez, "Farry is too… We… we should help."

Keziah gives a nod as she she starts heading towards the meadows. She's silent for a little "Do you. Do you think F'yrs okay?" she asks after a moment as she looks around at the destruction "Shards this place is a mess." she starts to say and then squeals as she slips, landing on her hip. Alosynth trumpets and then settles "I'm fine, jsut a little mud, just a little bruise." Her voice is tight as she winces and then carefully starts to get up.

M'nol offers his hand to help Kez up, more than capable of doing the work if necessary, "I hope she is… maybe we should check on her first since we don't have any explicit orders." His own feet slip slightly, then he catches himself, "I'll just be glad to get out of here."

Keziah takes the offered hand and carefully gets up as ALosynth whuffles at her "I'm fine. Really." she says, her voice less strained now. "Thanks M'nol." she says and then nods "Yes, lets go look for her. Do you know where her weyr is exactly?" she asks.

M'nol nods and smiles, "I don't know exactly where but it's off the meadow somewhere."

Keziah gives a nods and carefully works her way through the mud and then starts heading off towards the meadow, calling for F'yr.

M'nol follows, doing much the same, "F'yr!?"

Xanadu Weyr - Meadow

A large, slightly rolling meadow is set high enough above the riverbank on both sides to avoid suffering from flooding, healthy ground cover and grass spreading out from either side of the dividing river. Scattered amongst the meadow are a variety of buildings, each with a narrow path leading up to it from a main, winding road. Some are set under a few trees, while others sit by themselves.

Stables and a smithy are settled on their own plots, while trees border the western edge of the meadow, and a faint outline of a fence can be seen to the north.

F'yr's weyr is generally a large barn-like structure out in the meadow, with large doors big enough to accommodate the big brown that lives inside. A certain large brown that is currently tearing at the sides with claws and teeth, wings flared out behind him (though his bum wing hangs a little lower than natural). He's getting through, slowly. Apparently what might have happened here: Fy managed to get to the weyr where she hunkered down with Zaru. While the tornado tore off roof bits and whatnot, the pair eventually thought it was safe to head out. While Zaruath managed to crawl out, the structure seemed to collapse in on itself with the brownrider still inside. Luckily for her, she's a small target, but not entirely out of danger. A beam seems to have pinned her to the ground, and she's looking less than aware that her lifemate was bugling at the entrance.

Alosynth is bugling, her mind searching out for Zaruath even as her rider calls for F'yr "They've got to be around here somewhere, right?" she asks as she pales at all the weyrs that are in shambles or completely destroyed. She see's the animals running loose and the stablehands and some riders trying to herd them back while others are at work on the fences already. Then the green is silent and then she's off across the meadow as Zaruath is spotted. Kezi spots the structure and then she too is off running after words in sort of a gimpy gallup "F'yr!" she calls out.

M'nol's mouth goes slack for a moment, was she?… no, she couldn't be, Zaruath wouldn't still be there, then. Faraeth bugles to the other brown approaching carefully to try to help remove the rubble. M'nol looks at Keziah, "She… she can't be dead, right? Because Zaruath's still here?"

Zaruath doesn't even seem to slink back at the green's approach as he normally would have, too frantic to get inside the Weyr. The structure gives a groan when he actually tears a large chunk out of the door, blood left behind from scratches from his mouth and talons. But he's had much much worse, and doesn't seem to be paying any attention again. F'yr inside? Still out, and anyone close to the entrance can see that there is some blood. Probably a head wound. But she's off in la-la land and doesn't pay attention to the screaming.

Keziah goes pale and then she shakes her head "No, but she's got to be hurt bad." At the groan she gasps "Shards, we've gotta get her our of there." A look at Zaruath "Careful you'll bring it down on her. Alosynth, see if you can get him to listen maybe." She eases closer "Sweet Faranath mother of dragons." she whispers as she see's the blood. "She needs a healer. Alosynth settles down near « We have to be careful, or the structure will come down more. » comes the soft tickle of hairs. Keziah's looking around and then mutters "First thing I'm packing in your sacks is rope Alo." she notes as she slips the straps off of her green "Shards, gonna need a new pair"

Faraeth joins Alosynth in urging the other brown to let the smaller ones in to help his. M'nol moves with Kez and finds himself staring at a large pool of blood. He starts muttering quietly to himself as he enters, "not dead… not dead… can't be dead…"

Zaruath stops in his attack of the weyrbarn almost immediately, but it isn't because he listened to the others. Instead the crazy brown turns on then, teeth bared as he first snaps angrily to Alosynth. «She needs /my/ help!» he yells, musical voice thundering with the boom of war drums, blood flashing. Normally quiet, Zaru is rather angry instead. But at least the distraction of the two other dragons allows the smaller riders to slip in without him attacking them, but he does let out a loud bugle as they near his comatose rider and he still cannot get closer. F'yr, even out, has held one of her wrists to her, the beam resting on top of her but not looking like it squished her completely. Maybe bruised ribs, but she's still breathing, and the blood's obviously coming from a little gash in her head from falling most likely.

Alosynth backpedals a bit from the older dragon, but she's doing the best she can. « Yes, she needs your help. She needs you to be strong for her. » Comes the logical voice of the green, tinged with a touch of dismay at the snapping of teeth. « Keep her here. She will hurt when she comes to. » she relays to the brown, much of which she's getting from Keziah who's surveying the damage. "Oh good, she doesn't look crushed, and I don't see any blood bubbles in her mouth." she murmurs as she looks around "We have to get this off of her." she shakes her head a little "No good, nothing looks stable enough to use the straps to lift it off with." she looks over at M'nol "Any suggestions?"

Faraeth nods in agreement with Alo, « You must let ours bring her out to you. You cannot go in without hurting her more. » M'nol surveys the wreckage, then says, "Could Alo get in? She's smaller than the browns and might be able to lift the beam without rolling it over her or bringing the whole building down.

«I know how to care for my own lifemate,» comes Zaruath's cold reply, drums dimming into a dangerous hum in the background as he lowers himself low to the ground, looking for all the world like he might pounce on Faraeth. Because he couldn't really hurt a green at the end, unless really provoked. But then he jerks his head back to the gaping hole he's made, vocally keening. F'yr hasn't really moved, but her eyelids start twitching and a wrinkle starts forming on her forehead in pain. Still out though. The hole's at least been made bigger by the sides torn away by the brown.

Keziah winces at the keening and then she's nodding to M'nol "Might work, Alo." she calls quietly as she watches F'yr "I think she's starting to come too. Lets get this off of her before she does if possible." The green slips her head in and then inches forward carefully. Her tail twitches and then there's a pause « Do not bite me. I do not want to drop the beam. » She says to the older brown. The green then carefully gets the beam in her mouth and starts to lift. "All right M'nol, lets see how strong you miners really are." she challanges as she gets down to take charge of F'yrs feet. LEaving the shoulders for him.

Faraeth puts all of his effort into keeping the other brown from biting or attacking Alo, « Ours are bringing yours out. » M'nol shifts carefully, easing his hands under F'yr's shoulders, crouched low and ready to lift from the knees. He tests lightly and decides he can handle the load, then makes eye contact with Kez, "On three?"

Zaruath looks livid as Alosynth starts crawling in. He spreads his wings wide, which brings him to a wince and then starts pacing at her backside, teeth bared. He might as well be thinking about biting her, the way he's looking at her backside, but then her words come in and he stills. There's only silence from him as he shoots a glare at Faraeth, baring teeth at him instead as his eyes whirl a frantic red-orange. The beam lifted from her makes F'yr involuntarily groan in pain, her head slowly rolling to one side, a sucking sound as it peels away from the blood. And another groan when people start grabbing onto her. Any minute now the pain was really going to strike, though she looks pretty out of it still.

Keziah gives on nod "One..two.. three" and she carefully lifts "Shards, be nice to have a gold helping." she murmurs as she gets a little antsy with Alosynth's antsyness. "Careful now. Easy, start easing back away Alo, we need out." The green shifts a little, her hindquarters shifting to make room. At least F'yr is smaller than she is, so it's not as hard as she might fear, that and all the excercise V'dims had them doing helps. "Almost out. Careful."

What M'nol lacks in height he makes up from in soldity as he hoists his end of F'yr in time with Kez and starts to carefully back towards the entrance. Faraeth returns Zaruath's dark look and bared teeth, rumbling slightly and forcing M'nol to yell, "No fighting. Any of you!" before turning back to Kez, "A queen would *definitely* help."

Too bad there wasn't a queen available. Zaruath was getting even more angsty, vocally growling at Alosynth's back and going back to pacing relentlessly back and forth in front of the destroyed barn. He doesn't stop shooting nasty looks to the other brown though. F'yr's little body doesn't resisit the picking up, almost as if she knew they were trying to help she lies back still… for now. The wrinkle is still running across her forehead.

As they carefully bring F'yr out, Alosynth gently sets the beam down and carefully backs out of the building. She looks at Zaruath as she settles back down, her hindquarters are a-twitch, she could practically feel the teeth in them. Even if it didn't happen. "Thanks Alo." Kezi murmurs as she green gets out of the way more. "Lets get her to the infirmary." she murmurs and then looks up at Zaruath "She's out, she's going to be fine." She hopes.

M'nol nods, "Yeah, before the rest of the place fall on her… I hope she's alright." He glances at the headwound now, realizing that it's not as bad as it seems. Faraeth continues to eye Zaruath until his is clear, then croons softly to Alosynth and Zaruath both, « ours will all be fine. » M'nol starts heading towards the infirmary with F'yr's comatose form.

Zaruath hovers over the pair as they bring his lifemate out, trying to get as close as possible without really causing anymore damage. All the while making strange whimpering noises in the back of his throat. It's no problem getting F'yr to the infirmary that way, as she doesn't wake, but the big brown does slither after them as their personal shadow so long as they have his lifemate.
