Xanadu Weyr - Caverns

A massive cavern in it's own right, this one has been skillfully adapted for human habitation. The high ceilings have been painted a light, soft ivory, as are the walls where numerous tapestries hang to provide brilliant color and insulation from the stone. The floor has been left in its natural state, pale pink granite speckled through with glittering mica and dark flecks of basalt, leveled carefully but kept sufficiently rough to avoid slips.
The cavern itself is loosely divided into areas, each one set up to be suitable for some segment of the Weyr's population. The most frequently occupied area, however, is the one near the Kitchens where tables of varying sizes provide a place to sit down and eat or chat and a buffet of consumables is almost always kept stocked. Its plain that on most days, this area wouldn't accommodate anywhere near the full population of the Weyr and equally plain that on such occasions when a formal meal is laid out, tables are appropriated from all the other areas.
A big fireplace is set into the wall near the Kitchens as well, several comfortable chairs nearby providing haunts for elderly residents or riders who like a good view of all that happens. Rugs cover the floor in strategic spots, all of them abstract or geometric in design and most in the softly neutral colors of undyed wool.
Exits lead off in all directions, a big archway the largest and that leading outside. Shallow stairs to the west lead to the offices and administration area while tunnels to the east lead to the infirmary, kitchen and resident's quarters. Southwards, a sloping tunnel leads down to the hot springs and southwest is a wide tunnel, carefully roped off to avoid accidents.

Zevida is sitting quietly in the caverns, it is around lunch time and many people wander in and out. Normally her black eyes are scanning faces carefully, examining the person before dismissing them or making note of them. These eyes are on the table before her, staring and almost a blissful smile forms upon the woman's lips. Briefly it appears before fading once more and her expression becomes blank with her eyes narrowing to a glare.

It's a busy day today and not a single table is free for the dragonhealer. He looks around briefly, shrugs lightly and heads to Zevida's table with his plate. "Do you mind if I sit down?"

Zevida shifts her eyes towards the dragon healer with a quirk of her brow, looking over him before shrugging. "I don't mind." She offers simply before taking a bite from one of the meatrolls on her plate. There's another glance around the caverns, carefully watching those around her.

Senkyou walks in, hair pulled back in a messy runner tail bun hybrid, which really is just laziness. The four month pregnant Wingleader seems to be in a mood, walking around muttering before grabbing herself a mug and pouring klah into it. Her face is tense as if displeased, and she walks over to a table plopping down and drinking the klah with just a small wave to K'vin.

K'vin returns Senkyou her wave and turns his head to Zevida with a smile. "Good day isn't it?" He says softly. "Looks like weather is improving at last."

Zevida glances at Senkyou, looking over the woman and her pregnancy before offering a slight smile. Another bite from her meatroll and her shoulders shrug. "It's cold, still.. I t'ink. Not'ing like Igen." She offers, her gaze still not moving directly towards K'vin, more or less dismissing the man.

Senkyou has just sat down, when her eyes glaze over and she sighs. Walking over to Zevida's table and saying.. "What's your name?" Asking the question and crossing her arms and leaning against the table, almost like she'd really like to sit on the table. Eyes glassing over she shakes her head, mumbling. "Not doing that.. no.. you say it then!"

K'vin turns his head to Senkyou curiously and then nods his head at Zevida. "True, a bit cold but at least, it's not raining anymore, that's a bonus."

Zevida blinks at Senkyou, staring for a moment before the woman clears her throat. "Zevida is my name… Ma'am rider." She offers, a slight smile before she glances at K'vin full on once more. "Rain is nasty, but, I suppose it is 'elpful now and t'en." Smirking, she takes another bite from that meatroll in her hand.

A voice enters the caverns, it is mostly for Zevida but other may hear it The cinnamons and browns come with banners of green, a proud male voice full of years of tradition says «My lady, Zevida, would you at all be willing to allow me the honor of giving you a very special task?» Senk rolls her eyes, he is her dragon not Zevida's though Senk does relax a bit, at least she didn't have to say all that mushy junk.

K'vin nods his head. "It is useful but when you got to dig a trench around your place to avoid getting flooded, it's when it is too much."
Zevida squeaks, glancing around curiously before eyeing Senkyou. "Sure…" She says softly, placing the meatroll down upon her plate.

Senkyou stands up straight, "What he actually should have said is he wishes to make you a candidate."" Dulacth's voice comes in again. «You are to be a candidate, a noble undertaking indeed.» Senk just shakes her head, "If you accept will you follow me to the candidate barracks?"

Zevida nods slowly, taking a breath. "I see…" She rises from her seat. "I'll accept… Don't know w'at it entails.. But sure.." She follows Senkyou, once the woman leads.
