Moonlight swim and advice

Shore of Lake Caspian Shore of Lake Caspian
The cliffs that run along the shore come and go, various weyrs nestled along the tops of them or dug into the walls, but eventually they recede enough to expose a beach. The white sand echoes the rise and fall of the cliffs with a multitude of sandy dunes, endlessly creating tiny valleys that are constantly demolished and rebuilt by the frequent arrival or departure of dragons. The dunes smooth out as the gentle slope approaches the edge of the deep blue water. The sand darkens, and a shell here and there stands out for children to collect.
The beach narrows to the southwest, leaving a path barely wide enough for dragons in single file before cutting in to a smaller, more sheltered cove. The sands are the same white, the waters the same blue, but they're calmer and more tranquil, more protected from the winds that ruffle Lake Caspian and the currents that tug beneath the surface.
Rough, wide stairs lead up to the meadow above and the road that runs along the top of the cliffs, passing through the fields and heading for the river mouth that can be just barely seen from here. The largest of the staircases up the cliff is located near the docks that jut out onto the peaceful blue waters.

Just outside her weyr that is set back on the beach, Zaria is just coming out of the domed lean-to that serves as Azrith's portion of their accomodations. As she walks, her head swings around to spy anyone else around in the darkness, stars blinky brightly in the clear sky. She begins to unfasten her tunic as she throws down a towel she had flung over her shoulder.

There's a lump of a bronze who is stretched out in the sands. Or maybe it's actually a sand sculpture for he certainly doesn't seem to be moving. No wait. There's a gleam of an eye, but it seems to be focused out in the water. And if one were to listen there's the sounds of light splashing amongst the small little waves.

Zaria eyes the lump of bronze and then hears the light splashing. She strips off the remaining of her outer clothes, leaving her small clothes on. She runs a hand through her short messy cut red hair and makes her way towars the splashing at the water's edge. She calls out, "Nice night for a swim." as she reaches the water lapping the shores, so as not to suprise the other person.

"It is indeed! The water is delightful!" Then there's a sploosh and the out of the darkness T'lon comes up to the shore. "Not to cool and not too hot either." The short bronzer gives his head a little shake and brushes water out of his ears. "Best time for swimming if you ask me. Can floar on your back and almost believe you're out there amongst the stars." There's a light snort from the bronze and T"lon laughs "Well except for you my friend." He grins at Zaria "He sinks like a stone, so he spends more time under it. Unless he's surfing it. Then his wings will keep him on the surface.

"Sounds delightful." Zaria says with a grin as she steps further into the waves and reaches down to splash water up her hands and arms. "I need to get this oil off me before bed or else I'll wake up covered in sand. Azrith likes his bedtime oilings." Standing up again and rubbing at her forearms to dislodge the stubborn oil, she cocks her head to one side, "I don't think we've met. Zaria, blue Azrith's rider."
"T'lon, bronze Saumath's rider. ANd you're right, we haven't met, though I've watched you guys while you were training." he says chipperly. "And they do indeed like being well oiled. At least Saumath certainly does." He watches her ministrations and shakes his head "Straight water usually won't cut it. Some soap though, that usually does the trick. Did ya bring any with ya?"

Looking forlornly back at her little beach shack that serves as her weyr, Zar sighs heavily and then in a stroke of inspiration, she reaches down and grabs some of the sand and starts rubbing the wet grit over her forearms. "I have some back at my weyr," she nods in the direction of the shack, all the way up past the high tide line. "But it's just scented sand, so this should work as well." she remarks adn she rinces the sand off and then rubs her arm to ensure she's gotten it all. "You do a lot of midnight swimming?

T'lon tilts his head and then shrugs "Well, should work well enough, scour it all off." he chuckles "Well, every chance I can get. Some days are harder than others to finangle the time, but I usually do like to end the day with a swim. Even if the day ends up ending in the middle of the day depending on my schedule. Best way to sleep I say. And it cools things down when things haven't gone quite so well>"

Looking a little puzzled at his last comment, Zaria begins working on the other arm, scouring the oil off with the wet sand in her hand. "Cool things down? Are you talking about losing mating flights?" Now why would Zaria's mind go there immediately? it's a mystery. If it wasn't so dark, the blush warming Zaria's cheeks would have been like a beacon for her embaressment at mentioning that. "Sorry, I don't know why I asked that." she says hurriedly to cover her discomfort.

T'lon glances over at Zaria "Well, it works for that as well. Though I'll often hit a cold lake for that if I've not found a willing girl, though that's generally not an issue when a flight happens. No, like when the day has just been really crappy and you're all hot under the collar and just ready to do someone in. Cools the ire some." He then regards Zaria curiously "Your blue hasn't chased yet?"

Zaria shakes her head quietly as she rinces the sand from her other forearm. "Not yet. He's interested in then when they happen, but he hasn't wanted to chase yet. He's still young though. Maybe it won't be for awhile." Her tone is almost hopeful as she swallows hard the lump in her throat. "I think I may be the problem. I've not…you know. With anyone before." She shrugs and then walks into slightly deeper waters to submerge briefly before surfacing again and running her hands through her wet hair.

T'lon hms a little and nods "Well, we can certainly inhibit our dragons. It's not always about them and nothing of us." he notes and then hmms "Well, you might want to remedy that before hand. I mean it can be a pretty ummm intense experience under a dragons influence, and if you're not prepared, can be pretty painful from what I understand. He runs a hand through his own hair. Certainly not a position he'd ever thought he'd be in. "If you don't have a mate or something, maybe a good friend could help, or heck, anyone in the lower caverns would likely help you out. Male or female, whichever is your preference."

Zaria giggles nervously at his suggestion as she splashes about in the shallow water. "Girls actually, I guess I'm a little shy about that. The first, and only time, I tried to make a move on someone I thought I had feelings for, she did not reciprocate and made it known that my desires were unnatural. Of course that was back at my Hold, I've since learned at the Weyr, people are more accepting. But how am I to know who else here is like me? It's not like they wear signs or anything." More nervous giggling as Zar shakes her head. "I'm being silly."

T'lon nods a little "True, you could always ask the Headwoman, she typically knows most everything about everyone and all." he says with a bit of fondness for his younger days. "And she won't go blabbing either I'm pretty sure. Though, just be careful if your dragon catches a green with a male rider. You really want a full umm experience, before that happens." He hmms "Could always try a trio perhaps. Might be a little awkward but she could get you umm, well you know aroused and at ease and umm then he can well. You know." Okay. Ahem. "And no, you're not being silly. There is nothing silly about it. It's a shock when you end up with someone that's not of your pursusion. My brother likes guys and all, but it's not really my cup of tea, but it's happened."

Zaria's jaw drops and she sputters for a moment before she can make any real sound, "A trio? People do that?" she sounds shocked and amazed at the same time as she stands frozen in place. "And I guess, I just always thought the first time would be with someone who I, y'know, kinda loved. But things are done so differently in a Weyr. But I guess asking the Headwoman might be an option. It just feels unnatural to approach someone with…that in mind y'know? But you're probably right about getting both the experiences out of the way." She then looks up and gives him a long stare.

T'lon blinks a little "Well, yeah. People do. Depending on dynamics and all." he says and then shrugs "I myself haven't been in a pairing like that. But well, I also like giving all my attention to just one girl." He moves into the water a little more and settles down into a sitted position so it's up to around his chest, letting the light waves bob him around. "The Headwoman is really ideal to ask, and well why think of it as unnatural? Sex is a pretty natural thing. Only fair to want to do it with someone who is of the like mind and all. He's then blinking again at the long stare "What?"

Zaria shakes her head a little bit and thanks the darkness once more to hide her blush. "Nothing, just got lost in my thoughts for a moment there." she says and takes his lead and settles into the water, arms stretched out behind her, propping her up. "Oh it's natural alright. But I'm Hold-bred through and through, and some of them are quite prudish about sex before handfasting. And then you're expected to chose just one person for the rest of your life. Weyr life is so foreign to me." She looks at him again, not quite as intently, "I bet you're Weyr-bred." she guesses.

T'lon ahs a little and then nods "I've heard that about them. Seems pretty silly to me. But then it also seems like they sell you to someone as well. Like you're some kind of broodmare. That seems so unnatural to me. But you're right, bred through and through, both parents are riders and well you grow up just seeing how things go between people especially when flights happen more over the Weyr then the overlying areas." He looks thoughtful "Though it get it, I think. I mean even growing up, my first time was pretty nerve wrecking. And that wasn't even with a flight. So scared I'd do everything wrong, but well it went better than I expected."

Zaria nods slightly at T'lon's admission of his own first time. "That's all I want really, for it to go better than expected." She laughs a little easier and then that turns into a jawn stretching yawn which she reaches up and stiffles it with her hand to no avail. Once over it, she shakes her head as if to revive her. "Wow. This nightime swimming really is soothing. I'm half asleep already." she says with a weary smile. "I should get to bed, but it was very nice to meet you T'lon. I'm sure I'll see you around." she says as she gets to her feet and gives the bronzerider a wave as she heads off to her weyr, picking up her towel and discarded clothes on the way.

T'lon smiles brightly "Take care, Zaria, and most things usually do go better than we expect. And if you eer need anything, I've got place just over there near Saumath. You can't miss it." Or well, can't miss the bronze that is usually lying outside. He waves and watches her head off as he looks thoughful and then heads back out deeper into the water once more.
