Not A Killer, Are You?

Xanadu Weyr - Clearing

A wide clearing stretches from east to west, the ground packed hard although grass grows across most of it. Trees are strictly forbidden in this space, their danger to the constant draconic traffic reason enough to banish them to the forest that creates a this and sharp border to the north. Where the ground is less trampled, tiny flowers poke their delicate heads out from their shaded hiding places with upturned petals to wave to whoever may be looking.
The cliff looms imposingly on three sides, stretching upwards all the way up the side of the mountain where, high above, Xanadu's Star Stones and the ever present watchdragon sit on a lonely peak. Directly south is a massive tunnel, fully wide enough for even the largest dragon to fly down. Southeast are wide steps leading up to the Caverns and eastwards is the large entrance to the Infirmary. Somewhat north of the Infirmary is a human sized archway that has a frequent quantity of traffic — it leads to the Tavern. Southwest lies the low ledges currently belonging to Xanadu's queens while north and west a broad path cut by the side of the cliff leads to the Feeding Grounds and due north is the spacious trail that leads to the rest of the Weyr.

A walking pile of wood chips appears. From the direction of the Craft Complex, Datsun comes carrying a hammer and a chisel in one hand, the other stratching a spot on his head. This dislodges a few wood shavings, leaving behind a trail on the ground. The young man begins to hum softly to himself as he heads towards the Caverns.

Leave it to Shae to try and find a house. Felines, dragons, vagrants, sure, those were easy to track. But something like a building? It had no scent, no prints and no habits, so how was someone supposed to just track one down. Shae is contemplating his recent failure, seated near the path, the young ginger keeps an eye out. He figured he'd be able to catch someone's attention out near the clearing. The forest was not the best spot to approach someone and ask for asssitance out of the blue."Oi!" He calls out to the mound of molting as he pushes himself to a standing position. "Sorry t'bother yeh, but I'm a wee bit los' 'roun' 'ere. D'ya t'ink y'could gimme a 'and?" He asks, approaching the woodcrafter with a tilt of his head.

Datsun blinks as he's called 'Oi!', turning to the sound of the voice, pausing once he meets up with Shae. The other young man gets a shrug, "I don't know, I've only been here a few days myself. What is it you need help with?"

"Well, go fig're. Firs' person i see all day 'appens t'be as new as me." Shae says with a shake of his head as he walks alongside Datsun, his hand son his hips. He takes a moment to address the other man with a bit of a squint, due to the sun. "I'm lookin' fer a hut a some kin'. Dinnae know exactly wha' it luks lyke, bu' I'm sure I'll know it wh'n I sees it." He says before pointing in the direction of the forest before re-examining the other man. "So, didja fall outta th'wood or are y'just made o'it?" He asks, brazenly flicking some of the chips off of the other man's shoulder.

Datsun turns around as he orients himself, "Well, that's the Weyr, resident area and caverns in general." He points in that direction, then turns around again to the Meadow, "That way, I /think/ is the riders' weyrs. As far as I know, the forest is off-limits, so I doubt you'd find anyone in there except maybe the killer that's running around." A moment's thought at the chips being flicked off his shoulder and Shae is more closely examined, casting his eye up and down the other, "You ain't the murderer, are you? Nah, just been working on a project for the party today."

"If'n I were, don'cha think I'd of murdered ya by now?" Shae asks with a bit of a laugh before shaking his head and raising his hand, deciding to make it obvious, "Sorry, I ain' no murderer, I'm jus' lookin' f'r me place t'stay." He states before looking off in the directions Datsun had pointed out before looking back to the other red-head. "Oi, why'd ye'go an' think I'm the murderer?" He asks, somewhat touchy about the whole subject now that he's thought about it - Datsun couldn't have possibly guessed where he was from, or was he so blatantly obvious? Shae laughs and decides to instead, make a joke of it. "S'cause I've got long 'air, in'nit?" He asks, giving a forced laugh to try and lighten the mood. "Th'names Shae." He finishes, offering a hand to the other man as they come to a stop.

A shrug from Datsun, "I don't know. From what I've heard, the killer's been running around us, eatin' and drinkin' and sittin' with us like nobody's business." The side of his nose gets a stratch as he leans back on one foot. "A place to stay? That'd be the resident area, then." A nod towards the residental dorms, "Unless you have someone already in mind to stay with?" A shake of his head at Shae's long hair, "Nah, I hear the killer has dark hair, but you can't be too safe." The hand is taken and shaken, "Datsun."

Tsenik can be seen making his way through the clearing with a bag slung over his shoulder. In the bag are multitudes of flowers that stick out from the opening. The florist musses around in his pocket and pulls out a lip, a finger tapping idly against his lips. "Should almost be done now." Is said quietly under his breath and then there's talk of murdering that gets his attention. "You're going to murder someone? That's not very nice, and I don't think you'd be very happy about the consequences."

"S'pleasure t'meet'cha." Shae says as he releases the handshake, just in time for another person to walk by, talking about one of the two murdering people. "Ach, nae, y'eard wrong. We're jus' talk'n' 'bout the possibil'y o' lit'le ol' me bein' th'murderer that's camped out innae woods." Shae says. He hadn't heard of this, but now that he knows, he's going to keep a sharp eye out. "Bu' as m'friend Datsun 're can attest tue, I 'ave red 'air an' th'murderer 'as dark, so, I'm innae clear." He says with a smile.

"Nah, I just murder blocks of wood." is Datsun's reply to Tsenik, motioning to the fine covering of wood chips on himself, tucking his hammer and chisel away into his belt as his hand is released by Shae, "You have brown hair though. It's kinda dark… Are you him?" An eyebrow raises as he eyes the flower man. "Those flowers might just be a cover."

Tsenik blinks when suddenly the accusation is thrown on him, "M..me?" A finger jabs at his chest, blinking in surprise. "I….I couldn't do that! I would /never/ murder someone." Tsenik shifts uncertainly on his feet as he looks between the two men. "I have /long/ hair," As if to point it out, he lifts up his runner tail and wiggles it at the both of them. "And I only just arrived a little while ago here. And I'm just a florist! Do I look like I could kill someone?" There's a tiny sniffle as he wraps his arms about his chest.

"Bit 'o a run', I'd say. D'innae t'ink 'e coul' murder a fly wit'out a proper fun'ral." Shae says in jest before clapping his hands and splaying his arms wide. "Good news, non'a'us are th'murderer!" He says to te two before crossing his arms and looking at the florist. "S'wha' name d'you go by? I'm Shae and dis 'ere is Datsun. We're bot' just new 'roun' 'ere. Never 'urts t'meet som'un new, does it?"

Datsun tilts his head at Tsenik, "I'm just going off the description I already heard. Dark hair and looks funny. Kind of like Kale. But he's older, I think." A glance is sent between the other two, "I can see that. Is there a long-hair fashion thing going on at the moment or something?" A look at Tsenik as he asks his question, "To be honest, no."

"I've always worn my hair like this." Tsenik says perhaps a little defensively, letting his hair slip back behind his back, "I'm not from around here, either, I'm from Blueriver hold. I'm a florist, my name is Tsenik. Nice to meet you." Once he's been cleared, the man will slump slightly with relief, "That's good, because I don't think I could murder someone if I tried." Of course, if you would happen to look at the plants he grows, you might have other doubts.

"Wha's wrong wit' long 'air?" Asks Shae with a smile as he looks over his shoulder, trying to get a glimpse of his hair befor returning to the other two. "A'right, so, ther' ye go. We're all nice a'n 'cquainted." Shae promptly states before looking at the still chip covered Datsun and back to Tsenik with a smile. "Wher're yas 'eaded?" He asks pre-emptively.

Datsun shrugs, "I don't know, I mean, hair that long just seems like a hassle… I already have a hard enough time keeping my own hair clean. Nevermind combed. It never stays one way for long." A grin at Tsenik's sigh, "Well met. I'm from Far Cry Hold, up in the North. Close to Lemos." A look at Shae's question, "I was just going to go and grab a quick bite before finishing up my project."

Idrissa is making her way on out from the cavern with a few items in her arms, an a large steele gray and tanish colored rather large canine following at her side. The canine has on a harness which a few packages tied to it. Rissa glances around once she has caught voices, and once she has caught sight of the few talking she smiles and offers a slight wave towards them while juggling the items she is carrying. "Hello, Datsun, Tsenik…new person.." THis said while she peers at the one she's not met yet.

Tsenik looks over his shoulder and frowns as someone catches his attention, "Sorry, gotta go! That's my delivery!" And then he's off running chasing after the person.

There's not a pause for Shae as he moves to try and assist the woman with her burden. If she allows him, he'll gladly scoop up two or three of the items. Her look to him indicates she's not aware of who exactly she is speaking to, so Shae merely gives her a brief smile when she calls him 'new person'. "Nae a probl'm. M'names Shae. I'm nue 'roun' 'ere. S'pleas're t'meet'cha." He says proudly.

Datsun meets up with Idrissa, nodding as Shae takes a few items from her, negating his own need to help her, "Idrissa. I've already cleared that this new person /isn't/ a killer." He assures Idrissa, still covered with wood chips. It's clear he's been working for quite a while. Tsenik gets a blink as he runs off, "He does that a lot, I've noticed." A thumb is thumbed in the runner flower-carrying man.
in the direction of the running

Idrissa peers after Tsenik and blinks before looking back to Datsun, a faint ah escapes her before she looks back to Shae and offers him a smile and lets him take a few of the items. "Thanks." Her gaze flicks back over to Datsun. "Well gee, thanks for checking that out Datsun. Because that is totally what I was thinking about when I saw him." She smirks a moment and nods to Shae. "Nice to meet ye as well, I'm Idrissa." Asher, her canine lets out a bark, tail wagging about. "An this is Asher, totally harmless other then wanting to meet everyone…over and over." As for Datsun still covered in wood chips she doesn't even question it, he works with wood doesn't he? "I guess Tsenik is just really busy lately?" Sure that'll work.

"By th'way tha'boy's runnin', ye'd think those flower's were t'save a life." Shae says with a self-chuckle as he holds onto the few items Idrissa has unloaded on him. The two chatter back and forth about him not being a murderer and then he's introduced to her and her dog. "S'pleasure t'meetcha… both." He says, giving the dog a nod of his head before he looks down at all the items he and Idrissa are holding. "S'bit much f'r a wee one like'hyu. Where're hyu goin' wit' all t'is stoof?" He asks with both eyebrows raised. He gives a second to lean back towards Datsun with a smirk, "An' thank hyu f'r tellin' 'er I'm nae th'killer. Sounds more hones' if'n it's nah' th'possible killer sayin' 'e's nah' th'killer." He says with a nod, still joking a little.

"Yeah, but… /flowers/? I mean, that seems like something you'd do. Or Soriana. Maybe Kale." Datsun says about Tsenik to Idrissa, grinning. "Hey, I have to make sure you're safe. If only for Kale's sake." A wink, "Asher could always trip the killer if he ever meets him, though." A joke, peering at Shae as he makes his comment about /him/ being the killer, "I might be. You never know." A smirk, pulling out his hammer and chisel from his belt, handling them suggestively at Shae. "Hmm… Well, I must go eat! I'll catch you three later." A pat is aimed at Shae's back, a nod to Idrissa and a friendly pat is offered to Asher when he departs.

Idrissa lifts a brow as she hears Shae, a faint smirk seen at the 'wee one' comment. "It an't like there heavy. I deal with runners so this an't nothing. An I'm taking 'em down to the beach." Not like carrying around a bunch of feed for the runners after all. A glance is sent over to Datsun at the flower comments. "Hey… I don't think I'd be good at dealing with flowers, the runners would want to eat them all." At the killer comment she does look back over to Shae an watches him a few moments. "See you later Datsun." Asher wruffs out at the pettings and leans into them, his tail thumping against the ground rather happly.

"'Ave a gud 'un, Datsun. Hope t'see ya'gain." He says as Datsun gives him a pat. The other red-head move away as Shae stays in front of Idrissa with a smile. "Sooo, yer goin' to th'beach?" He asks with an eyebrow raised as he looks in the direction of the shoreline. "A'right. As these t'ings inn'ae 'eavy. 'ow 'bout you an' I jus' 'ead down to th'beach an' chat 'bout stoof?" He asks. Normally, he'd be doing his own thing, but Shae has a bit of a protective streak when it comes to those younger than him, especially women. Where e's from, the young ones didn't go out alone unless they had an older sibling or parent around. "'Ow does tha' sound t'hyu?" He asks with a smile before looking down at Asher before adressing the pup as well. "So long a'hyu dinnae mind, Ash'r?"
