Xanadu Weyr - Infirmary
The infirmary here is intended for human care. It is spotless and smells of disinfectant, cots are lined up against one wall, a curtain can be pulled to give some privacy to the occupants of the cots if they so desire. A cabinet stands off against another wall, instruments and medications stored against when they will be needed. A couple of curtained off beds are used for examinations of patients and the treatment of minor injuries which won't require long term care. A desk with chair is just off of the doorway for the healer to sit and catch up on record keeping after a long days work.
Shellie is resting at her desk at the moment, as the infirmary is, thankfully, rather quiet. She's currently wearing a set of scrubs which are printed with firelizards, although they're larger than usual as she's definitely showing. Being four months along with triplets will do that to you.
Mommy and new baby are crashed in the middle of the infirmary, Saige idly writing down notes as little Zeiton naps the night away.
Karashi yawns and streches as she exits one of the exam rooms. She had not slept well before this shift and was fighting the rise of sleep she often did not feel this late at night. She strides to the desk to take a seat beside Shellie to finish the report with another yawn..
Shellie looks up, and smiles. "Hey there. How you doing tonight?" She likes the company of the younger Journeywoman. "You look like you're about to crash any second. If you need to rest for a while, I can cover things here." A quick glance over at Saige and her little one, but she doesn't say anything, just directing a smile to the Dragonhealer, so that the baby can sleep.
Saige waves back gently at the HEalers thne creeps her way over. "He's so quiet… my cousions were always loud as babies."
Karashi waves her hand at Shellie as she rubs her eyes, "I'm okay, just didn't sleep so well before my shift" she manages a small laugh at Saige's comment, it reminds her of a letter her sister sent her several turns ago. "My sister said the same thing about her youngest, she couldn't believe how quiet she was compared to the other two" mentally she reminds herself to visit her sister and nieces some time soon.
Shellie nods. "All of my three were loud. I'm dreading when these three pop." She pats her stomach. "How are you feeling, Saige? Everything all right?" She stands up, and moves over to a Klah pot. "Want some Klah, Kara?"
Saige smiles. "I'm fine.. I'm just… glad. The baby is born. Hopefully he'll be a patient one. My ma' always said I was, so here's hoping that that trends continues in the family. even though it's L'tons' baby."
Karashi shakes her head, "No thanks. Not a Klah drinker anymore" she admits, as she remembers the last mug she had and it's violent consequence. There was a loud squeak of fright as a bronze bursts into the air, he dives for Karashi's chest. "Shh Katsu it's okay" she whispers to the bronze she craddles against her chest, she hopes he didn't wake anyone with his fright. "This is my baby." she admits a little sheepish.
Shellie giggles. "He's a cute little guy. But why so shy?" She settles back down, unable to resist grinning wryly to Saige. "So are these three, and my Zallie."
Saige laughs. "Camuflar - my green flit - is out with my green dragon." She notes, wryly. "Poor Zei. He's gonna be a heartbreaker, like his da." She notes, giggling. "Poor L'ton."
"I think he had a nightmare" she strokes Katsu's back softly, she smiles as he relaxes into her arms. "He's usually quite sociably" there is a small hint of sadness as they talk about their others in their lives, bust Kar tries her best to cover it with a smile, "Katsu here's my one and only, for now he is"
Shellie smiles at Karashi. "Hey, don't be so down. I'm sure you'll find someone sometime. There's someone for everybody out there." She reaches over, and gently squeezes Kar's shoulder.
Saige nods vigerously. "That's very true." She says gently. "You'll find someone … ack!" Zie wakes up and starts crying and the greenrider flies down to the baby boy and snuggles him gently, crooning.
"Thanks.." Karashi is about to continue when Saige is distracted by the crying of her baby. She turns back to Shellie with a smile and sighs as someone enters the infirmary. "Well looks like it's back to work, I'll get this one" she grins and stands to direct the new patient to one of the exam rooms.
Shellie grins to Karashi. "That's great. I'm going to lie down, and take a nap for a bit Dear. Wake me if you need me." And with that, she stands, and moves into her office.
