Beach Time

Xanadu Weyr - Beach

The unerring range of subdued white rises and falls in a multitude of sandy dunes, creating an endless amount of tiny valleys constantly demolished and rebuilt by the frequent arrival or departure of a dragon. Smoothing out as it slopes gently to the edge of the deep blue water, the sand darkens and a shell here and there stands out for children to collect. The beach itself is set along a low cliff - the height lessoning as one heads eastwards, blocking a portion of the beach from direct access.
The wide wide stretch of water opens up to the east, the far distant shore way beyond the horizon and the beach curves ever so slowly round to east and west, distant arms of land embracing the wind-ruffled Caspian Lake. East leads up to the mouth of the Rubicon River, where the protecting cliff is merely an arms length higher then the sand, and beyond that, a winding road leading out of Xanadu's territory. Westwards, the beach narrows as the cliff swings out, leaving a path wide enough for dragons in single file before cutting in to the sheltered cove designated the Weyrling Beach. However, cut in the cliff face to the north are a variety of rough, wide staircases, providing access to the clearing and to the meadow.

Rukbat has risen, its rays colouring the waters among the docks a deep red. The strange sight has attracted the attention of Itineranth and the small Bronze remains perched upon the end of the biggest dock, striking at the water with his muzzle while his Rider shakes his head. "Nothing's died in it, Iti. I swear, you need to use your long-term memory for more than females."

Kitty slips down from the meadows, followed by Mionarracth who is looking to take a little bit of a dip in the early morning hours before the two of them head off to bed. Course Kitty herself doesn't seem to be too tired yet and is busy reading through some notes that she took during the night. At the remark she blinks a little and looks towards the dragon and then the water. A little bit of a smile twitches on her lips.

By this time the young man has already started with his morning exersizes, as Sarcon is jogging through the sand. The bright light of Rukbat in his face, keeping his sight to the sand as he runs. As he reaches the middle of the beach he look out onto the water, but soon squints as he strips off his shirt and shoes. Not long after that he begins to walk into the water, then dives into the cool blue liquid only to come out with a loud deep yell of satisfaction.

Itineranth lifts his head and buggles a reply to the yell. T'vis winces and steps forward to slap his Lifemate on the neck. "Do you want to wake up the whole Weyr? Again?" Itineranth snorts and glances at T'vis, catching sight of the mutant Blue runt. "Iti…"

Mionarracth seems to take no notice of the dimunitive bronze as he heads for the water, slipping into the shallows and then further out, not to far from where Sarcon went into the water. Kitty slips over to a flattish rock and climbs up onto it and settles herself down. She glances back at the bronze and his rider a little curiously and then shakes her head as she goes back to perusing her notes and making a few more notations now that she's not walking.

T'vis moves along the length of the dock leaving Itineranth to strike at the water a few more times. Thankfully, the shade is shifting as the sun continues to rise. Reaching the start of the dock he jumps down to the sand and makes his way towards Kitty on her rock. "Good morning… I'll appologise for Itineranth now, I think. Ounce of prevention and all that."

Sarcon looks over putting his hand over his eyes to cover the sun, then seeing the dragon he wades over to Mionarracth and smiles. "So wheres is she Mionarracth, I know you didn't come here by yourself. He smiles raising his hand to pat him on his side. He turns his head to see Kitty on the rock but doesn't see T'vis too well. "Kitty…what are you doing over there! Common and swim!" He laughs and waves her over, then places his hand on the smooth skin of the dragon.

Nope, Kitty is never to far away from Mionarracth, or well Mio isn't ever too far away from Kitty. The blue rumbles softly at Sarcon even as Kitty blinks and looks up and away from T'vis a moment as Sarcon calls out to her. She smiles, even if she is a bit far away and shakes her head. "Uh uh." she murmurs softly and then looks over at T'vis "Oh?" she asks softly and tilts her head "How come?"

T'vis rolls his head slightly. "He remembers your Blue from that Green's Flight. Not kindly, I might add." He frowns at the Bronze as he slips off of the edge of the dock into the water. "I can't believe I'm saying this, but he needs another Flight to get him mind off of it."

Sarcon laughs and looks to Mio and laughs. "Oh she's too busy to play with old Sarcon now a days huh Mio." He looks at the beach and seeing T'vis finally makes an assumption. "Oh I see she has other things than fun on her mind. Guess that was silly of me to think she'd always be my little kitty." He smiles and then dives under the waves but resurfaces then swimming back and forth in the water.

Mionarracth watches Sarcon a moment and then whuffles softly even as he stretches out to float gently in the water. Kitty on the other hand has started to set her notes down and then she starts to blush at the mention of the flight and looks away and into her notes. "Oh." she mumurs softly and almost starts to reach out for Mio and then stops as she remembers he's not there beside her. The blue lifts his head up and looks back towards Kitty and starts to head back until she shakes her head a little and then he settles back down. Somewhat. Though he keeps an eye on her as he soaks.

Itineranth, having dove under the water as he left the dock, surfaces near the Blue and rears up in the water, bringing his wings forward in a powerful flap and causing a fair sized wave to head in his direction. "Itineranth!" T'vis' eyes flash with what might actually be anger and he glares at his Lifemate who snorts and dives under the water once more.

Sarcon just swims around for a while occationally making sure nothing bad is happening, but seeing nothing is happening just goes ahead and continues his morning routine. But as he looks toward the beach, he is turned upside down between breath and goes under the water taking a big gulp of the water. He jumps out of the water coughing and gasping for air a displeased look on his face as he turns toward the dragon then to the beach toward the rider.

Mionarracth doesn't move for a moment, in fact he's very still and then in a slow, almost deliberate fashion, he slips out of the water and heads towards Kitty who's watching, her eyes wide and her whole body tense. The dragon makes her way towards her and without even a by your leave to T'vis she's off and running towards the blue, her notebook dropped and for the moment forgotten as she wraps her arms along him, not even minding that he's wet.

T'vis frowns and picks up the notebook, closing it and setting it upon the rock before he slips off his shirt, pants and boots and diving into the water. He doesn't surface for several moments.

Sarcon walks toward T'vis, water dripping from his bangs as he has a curled lip and fire in his eyes. He is not the happiest camper, and as his eyes search the beach for the rider he turns to the water looking for the dragon now, but no sign of them makes him walk out of the water toward Kitty. "Where did that bronze's rider go? I've got a few word to say to him." He growls then looks to the water again.

Kitty currently has her head up against Mio and shakes it a little even as she runs her hands along his hide. She points to the water a little but doesn't look away from Mio even as she murmurs softly under her breath. Soft little crooning noises really as she sooths him quietly. The blue twitches his tail back and forth for several minutes after coming in from the water, but slowly it starts to subside.

It takes all his endurance, but T'vis remains under the water until Itineranth rises first. The Bronze warbles in frantic worry before his Rider surfaces before him, both are a fair distance away from shore. Catching his breath, T'vis doesn't seem any less angry, though Itineranth's eyes whirl with alarm. Slowly they shift toward sorrow and he nudges the man who finally lets himself be convinced to climb upon his neck. When they reach the shore, T'vis dismounts and begins to get dressed again. He glances at Kitty, opens his mouth to speak and then shakes his head. There are no words really. And he's still shaking, though he's seen Dragons play rougher than that without any harm.

"Hey you I don't know your name but you better teach your dragon some manners, I took a big drink of salt water because of him." He looks at him. "Teach him how to act, if it was a little kid he could have hurt him." He looks at the rider, though then turns to kitty. "Whats wrong Kitty?" With another glance back to the rider.

Itineranth lifts his head to look at Sarcon from above his Rider's head. A low rumble begins in his throat, but T'vis gives him a glare and the sound shifts into a worried croon. Once the man's dressed he point upward and the Bronze takes a few steps away before launching himself into the air. The Rider begins to stalk away. Sarcon is ignored.

Kitty shakes her head just a little as she glances over at Sarcon and gives him the smallest of smiles and then she wonders up away from the water, Mio following and acting as if nothing has happend. He's calm down now. He settles himself into the sand and Kitty climbs up onto his forearm and settles herself against him, sorta shifting herself down into the crook a little.

Sarcon looks back from the departing rider. "Better leave." So whats got this blue doing here, wasn't he here swimming?" He smiles trying to get the blue to head back and relax in the water.

T'vis leave the beach, his Bronze lands three times along the way, pausing to pick him up and being ignored. Finally Itineranth gets the hint and simply shadows his Lifemate from above as they move out of sight.
