There is indeed. We all start somewhere and, if it helps, my very first RP scene went much like yours. It took me awhile to learn how to craft a pose, but I had a lot of fun doing and helpful, friendly folks to nudge me in the right direction.

All of the game admin have wished, discussed, bemoaned and gnashed teeth about the server lagging and going down so frequently. The problem is that Mynti owns both the game AND the (anitquated) server equipment and she isn't about to hand over that to anyone anytime soon. We've asked - it's been offered. PernWorld is her baby and she clings even though she's barely involved anymore. She pays the bills and owns the rights to PW. Sad, isn't it? XD

(I'm not even sure how many of you check the forum, but here goes)

I got disconnected in the middle of a scene last night (Wednesday) and wasn't able to reconnect. I thought maybe Pern was down again, but that wasn't the case because other people told me they were still connected and didn't have any lag. So.. I tried restarting my router, which didn't help. I was able and still am able to connect to all of my other worlds with no problem, but for whatever reason I can't get connected to Pern. I tried using the number address that's listed on the site (64.81.83.64) instead of pernworld.net. No go. I tried connecting via phone and iPad, no go. I even tried to get connected via telnet on some site and couldn't get through! I don't know what the problem is :( I checked the Pernworld Facebook page and saw that there was a small handful of other users that were having the same problem and getting the same error that I am

I tried messing around with my firewall, making sure simpleMU wasn't blocked or the port number to Pern, and still nothing. I was hoping it was just a glitch last night but now it's a brand new day with the same problem. If any of you are tech-smart and know of anything I can try, please let me know. I'm not a member of the Facebook page but I'll keep an eye out on it to see if any of the people who are having the same problem get it fixed somehow.

If it continues for an extended amount of time, along with dying a little inside, I'll figure out something to do with Ka'el. Currently he's supposed to be at Black Rock just for a day and I can always backscene his return if needed or have something happen to him that'd keep him from returning on time and get Kanekith worked up. Rp fodder, maybe, for those who CAN connect! Hopefully this will be fixed by today!

To find Weather/season pertinent to the Xanadu area, you may type +today in any Xanadu parented room (if you own your own room or weyr @parent here to #9326 and this command will work for you). This will pull the seaon/weather from the Deluge Station, which is geared to emit weather approproate to the southern Continent.
