Hot and Dry

Even as spring gave way to summer, little seemed to change around Xanadu except that as the days grew longer, the temperature simply continued climbing. As the days now approach their longest point, the heat still clings to the normally comfortable-climated weyr, and there is little relief to be had. The afternoon thunderstorms that often bring cooling rain have been nearly completely absent, and the sun has simply baked the area day in and day out.

Non-essential crops are falling casualty to falling water levels and the lack of rain, as efforts are being directed to saving the most necessary and sustainable of the fields.
