It was a quiet day in the Weyr when a greenrider came back with a report about seeing a gold dragon take off and fly away. The greenrider had opted to report back rather than chase after the gold, because her dragon was too small to have a hope of catching up. She reported to X'hil, and D'had was sent for. The three riders and Kire headed out to the gold's last known location.
The sharp-eyed Kire spotted the cavern, and the expedition headed down to check it out. They found no sign of dragons or people, just hot hot sands and three thin and brittle over-cooked eggs. The verdict was that nothing could have hatched from them, and the gold was unlikely to return to this cavern, though it would be watched when the gold came close to clutching again.
